Frequently asked questions
What happens if my carry-on luggage exceeds size, weight, or quantity limits?
Your carry-on will be checked at boarding. If it exceeds the rules, it will be placed in the aircraft's cargo hold. You must remove and keep items such as spare/loose lithium batteries, electronic smoking devices, heat-producing items, lighters, matches, passports, travel documents, valuable items, and essential medications with you in the cabin.
Can I carry televisions or large electrical items in the cabin?
No, televisions and large technical/electrical equipment cannot be transported in the cabin. Contact Air Astana's cargo sales department at cargo@airastana.com for assistance.
What is the rule for carrying liquids in the cabin?
You can carry liquids in containers of up to 100 ml each, with a total volume not exceeding 1 litre. The containers must be packed in a resealable, transparent bag. Restrictions apply to items such as gels, sprays, creams, and similar substances. Exceptions include medications, baby food, and liquids bought in duty-free shops (sealed with receipts).
What items can I carry free of charge in addition to my luggage?
Passengers may bring:
- A cane, crutches, or leg braces if necessary.
- A handbag, small men's briefcase, or backpack (max 3 kg, total dimensions up to 80 cm).
- A portable baby crib or folding stroller (rolled-up size up to 34x32x14 cm).
- A small cake or bouquet of flowers.
- A limited amount of duty-free goods with receipts.

Can I carry my laptop separately?
Your laptop and its bag must fit within the allowable carry-on luggage limits. Place the laptop in your standard carry-on, as it may count as an additional item.
What if my hand luggage complies with the rules but still needs to be checked in?
In rare cases, even compliant carry-on luggage may need to be placed in the cargo hold. Always remove essential items like travel documents, valuables, and medications before your bag is taken to the hold.
